good evening! i finally got around to watching the trailer for sexy fashion maven tom ford's directorial debut a single man which garnered rave reviews at the venice film festival back in september - it stars colin firth alongside one of my favorite actresses julianne moore (her performances in both boogie nights and magnolia are incredible) this films looks amazing (based on the 1964 novel by christopher isherwood) i must go see it when it opens in december! i hope everyone is enjoying friday night - i'm definitely sleeping late tomorrow and sunday! popbytes over & out for now ... xoxo

Last night, I got to see one of my new wave hero bands - DEVO - play their seminal 1980 Freedom Of Choice album, live in its entirety. And they were beyond fun and amazing. Before they came on, they played three of their ground-breaking videos from the disc, including their biggest hit, Whip It. And I sat there thinking: 'This was like so totally subversive for early 80's MTV' - yet we all remember that video by heart. hey kids - happy halloween! oh i had to laugh out loud when i saw these pictures of wacky d-list actress bai ling out and about last night in NYC - supposedly dressed as famed pop art figure andy warhol - i don't really see any resemblance at all - plus when you have to write on your stomach and the back of your jacket who you are just like ms. ling did (along with the phrase kiss my ass) then you've obviously got the costume all wrong! she looks more like a braless mad scientist than mr. warhol - what a dumb ass! so what's everyone doing tonight? this evening i'm heading downtown to hard haunted mansion which is a huge 'rave' party - with DJ sets from justice and basement jaxx along with performances from major lazer and crookers (and more!) it should be a good time - luckily i've got a photo/media pass (many thanks to my pal sheena beaston) so i'll take plenty of pictures and send lots of tweets! please be careful tonight - with halloween landing on a saturday - i know things are going to be extra crazy this year! popbytes over & out for now ... xoxo
