After Amanda Bynes‘ year from hell, we were briefly optimistic that Amanda was better, thanks to a strict regimen of psychiatric help and medication along with a new education in fashion. Except it turns out Amanda’s parents are f*cking idiots, because according to TMZ, they’re taking Amanda off the medication her actual doctor prescribed because they’re convinced that she just needed to cut the weed out of her life. Seriously.
Amanda’s mom says all her her daughter’s problems emanated from marijuana, and she is now weed-free, so Amanda is off ALL medications. Lynn Bynes says, “She has no mental illness whatsoever.” We made the rounds again Wednesday … and everyone we spoke with stands firm — Amanda does suffer from Schizophrenia and Bipolarity. Beyond our sources, there’s documented proof of mental illness. Tamar Arminak, the celebrity lawyer who reps Amanda’s mom, tells TMZ, “Amanda is now on zero medication.” Her mother believes all the talk about Schizophrenia is false and that’s why she took her off the meds. The mom says she’s had no psychotic episodes in the last few months.
Yes, she hasn’t had a psychotic episode in months because of the medication and the doctors! Seriously, this unfortunately happens a lot, and I’ve seen it happen: Someone with psychotic episodes goes and gets help, they get better, and figure that they can just stop taking their meds and everything will be fine. And then it restarts. If Amanda’s parents actually gave a sh!t about their daughter, they would stand back and listen to the medical experts who are actually trying to help her.
