This week we feature one of my favorite bands, Gossip. Even with major label backing and Rick Rubin in the producer’s chair, their fantastic Music For Men disc from last year has been criminally overlooked and sadly underplayed on US radio. Seems like the fearless queer-positive trio can’t get a break in the sad world of autotune and pre-fabricated pop. And the day that powerhouse singer Beth Ditto even needs autotune is the day I move to Iceland! OK, I’m off my soapbox now – and ready to unleash their breakthrough hit, Standing In The Way Of Control, fiercely mashed up with both AC/DC and Digitalism.
