In case you haven’t read a newspaper or gone onto the internet for the past few weeks, Rob Ford is our crack-smoking mayor who tried to cover up a video of him smoking crack for months before the police finally got their hands on it, at which point he pretended that he was always honest, it’s just that no one ever asked him the right questions. Well, Lady Gaga is talking about Ford now because of course she is, and get this: She thinks Rob is honest. HONEST! HAAAAAAAAAAAA! Via HuffPo …
“At least he’s honest,” she said according to the Toronto Sun in response to a question about the city’s crack-smoking top official. “I think this is the age we live in that nobody can make mistakes without being drawn up to the heavens.”
“I don’t know [Ford] personally. I wouldn’t want to pass any judgment. I did think the skit was funny. I like to poke fun at myself or poke fun at others) … I think that people don’t know that about my personality, that I’m a really big goofball and I love making people laugh.”
In all fairness, when you’re not living in Toronto, it’s a lot easier to take Rob Ford as the joke he is. Except here’s the thing: When you actually have to live in the city he’s running, it’s a nightmare. He misappropriates money, he pushed for a subway line that cost us millions instead of a lightrail transit that would have been paid for by the province, he defended himself during a conflict of interest case by pleading ignorance as to what exactly his job entails, he drives while texting and drives while drinking, he refuses to come to the Pride Parade, he uses city property for personal use, and I’m not sure if you noticed this, but HE SMOKED CRACK IN A DRUNKEN STUPOR.
