Yeah, so you know Miley Cyrus‘ new music video for “Wrecking Ball?” Guess how many views that got in a mere twenty-four hours? Higher … nope, even higher than that … actually, you know what? I’ll just go ahead and tell you: 19 Million! 19 Million people heard that Miley was naked again and went “Yes please!” and apparently that just broke Vevo’s all-time record, according to E! Online

If Miley Cyrus is twerkin’, we’re talkin’. And if she’s crying and swinging naked on a wrecking ball, you better believe we’re watching! So it makes sense that Miley’s “Wrecking Ball” music video (which premiered Monday, September 9) broke VEVO’s record for the most -viewed clip—receiving some 19 million views in its first 24 hours. “Wrecking Ball has officially beat the @VEVO record,” the 20-year-old Queen of Twerk tweeted. “thank you smilerzzzzz.”

I’ll be the first to admit that “Wrecking Ball” is actually a pretty decent song, plus I still do kind of like “We Can’t Stop” even if it does have that line about doing blow in the bathroom. But here’s the thing: Miley isn’t riding on her talent right now. She’s basically riding on “Okay, what other insane bullsh!t can I do next to bring in attention?” There’s nothing wrong with garnering press, but you need to be able to make it equivalent to what you’re putting out there, and so far, her publicity is outweighing her talent.
