Review: Friends With Benefits

Friends With Benefits

If you’re a fan of romantic comedies then Friends With Benefits could be right up your alley. I’ll let everyone know right now that these kind of movies usually don’t float my boat but I was quite pleasantly surprised with this one. Plus I knew that cutie director Will Gluck was at the helm, and he did such an awesome job with Easy A (starring Emma Stone who makes a cameo appearance in this film), this turned out to be quite fun as well. The main thing that actually carries the film though is the amazing chemistry between stars Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis, they’re perfect together. Even at the press junket, the chemistry between these two was totally palpable, I was sitting right next to them, she’s gorgeous in person and he of course is beyond adorable and was cracking jokes left and right. If Justin and Mila are not doing it in real-life, they probably should be! Besides all the great chemistry going on, I simply loved actress Patricia Clarkson‘s performance, she plays Mila’s kooky hippie leftover mom and always manages to bring the laughs and this film was certainly no exception (she was so casual, cool and witty at the junket, totally how I expected her to be). The rest of the cast is nicely rounded out with Woody Harrelson (hilarious as a gay sports writer), Jenna Elfman and Richard Jenkins (who play JT’s sister and dad). Plus the film’s soundtrack was quite enjoyable, I just did a post on that the other day. So if you’re looking for some place to cool off, the movies might just be the place and you can’t go wrong with this one!
