So apparently, Sacha Baron Cohen received the Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy, which … does anyone else feel like giving out comedy awards would be rather difficult in Britain? You’d never be able to tell who’s actually trying to be funny and who just has that natural, dry, British wit. Either way, Cohen decided to do the award justice by pulling out some classic Chaplin mannerisms and then pretending to accidentally kill an older women, which the internet freaked out about. Except oh wait, the internet freaks out about EVERYTHING. I made a joke about how weird it was owning a cat for the first time, and ended up spending an entire day trying to talk some crazy a-hole down because she thought I was advocating abusing cats. My point is, there are a lot of humorless, self-important people on the internet, and if it weren’t for the endless array of pornography and cat memes, the web would be the worst place in the world.
