The Much Music Awards were last night

Justin Bieber and Carly Rae Jepsen

Hey, did you know Canada has its own music channel? It’s called Much Music, and aside from Brent Butt, it’s pretty much the only thing creating original television programming up here. Anyway, once again they put together The Much Music Video Awards, that special day where we honor Canadian pop music instead of Father’s Day. (Seriously, you can’t move that to, like, next week? Or the week before?) That minor grievance aside, it was pretty awesome, even if it is enabling Justin Bieber. Here’s the full list of winners via Broadcaster Magazine:

Yes, Carly Rae Jepsen pretty much WON ALL THE THINGS! This year, although that’s not really much of a surprise because holy crap, that song is everywhere. It’s a good song, sure, but I’m starting to feel like we, as a society, are nearing the point of diminishing returns with all the Call Me Maybe jokes. Oh, and quick aside here: I had a little moment last night because Kreesha Turner was wearing the most AWESOME dress by Northbound Leather, where my boyfriend works, and she was super nice and awesome and talented. Oh, and the BF even designed the leather kilts that all her back-up dancers were wearing! I mean yes, they weren’t wearing them correctly, but still, cool.
