I don’t know what the hell happened exactly, but apparently a tiny internet sh!tstorm enveloped Nashville star Hayden Panettiere after the Golden Globe Awards when everyone found out that the Tom Ford dress she wore was bought off the rack. HORROR! Look, I don’t know what the policy is — can you only wear designer names if they let you? I don’t know — but something about the controversy seemed super overblown. Anyway, Hayden took to Twitter to let you all know that Ford was completely fine with her wearing a dress she bought, because really. What was he going to say? “How dare you pay money for something I made? YOU SCANDALOUS BITCH!”
UPDATE: The reason Hayden bought her dress (which cost $10,000) is because Naomi Watts was already wearing a Tom Ford dress, and designers only tend to lend out one dress per awards show, so Hayden must have really liked the dress to purchase it!
