Amy Poehler & Tina Fey respond to Taylor Swift sending ’em to hell

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler

Yesterday, Taylor Swift basically said that Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were going to hell because they made a light joke at her expense which, if that’s the case, means I’ll probably be ruling at least one of the circles of hell by the end of the day. Anyway, because Amy and Tina are mature, classy women with a sense of humor instead of a bratty, spoiled little sh!t who would write a passive-aggressive song about someone if they so much as sneezed in her presence, they both handled the situation with tact and grace. Here’s Amy’s response via The Hollywood Reporter

Aw, I feel bad if she was upset. I am a feminist, and she is a young and talented girl. That being said, I do agree I am going to hell. But for other reasons. Mostly boring tax stuff.

And here’s Tina’s response from Entertainment Tonight

“If anyone was going to get mad at us, I thought it would be James Cameron,” Fey, 42, told ET exclusively at the New York City premiere of her new movie, Admission, on Tuesday night. “I did not see that one coming. It was a joke. It was a lighthearted joke.”

So for those keeping score, Tina and Amy made a joke about how Taylor should probably stay single for a little while. Taylor told Amy and Tina that they were going to burn in a pit for fire for all of eternity. Tina and Amy shrugged their shoulders and went “Yeah, probably.” You may want to be taking notes Taylor, because that’s how an adult addresses a joke made at their expense.
