Chord Overstreet: Coming back to ‘Glee’?

Chord Overstreet

In the never-ending saga that is Chord Overstreet‘s firing-rehiring-quitting of Glee, it seems like today Chord threw a dart at his magical dartboard of employment and it landed on “rehiring”, so we can all look forward to the return of Sam to McKinley High a little later this season. And a couple episodes after that, we can all look forward to him getting fired, but not really, and then he quits before coming back an episode later. It makes perfect sense from a behind-the-scenes perspective I’m told. TVLine reports:

Three months after his high profile departure from Glee, Chord Overstreet is in final talks to return to the show on a recurring basis, TVLine has learned exclusively. Assuming the deal closes — and I’m told it definitely will — Overstreet will reprise his role as the sweet, sculpted Sam beginning with this season’s eighth episode (tentatively scheduled to air in early December).

Ah, why the hell not. Finn is going to be graduating along with Rachel at the end of the year, which means we’re going to need a new set of leads, and I think Sam, Artie and Blaine will be the only boys left in New Directions. Which is weird, because wasn’t Blaine a year older than Kurt last year? And then he transfers to a new school and all of a sudden he’s a year younger? What the shit? That is some Benjamin Button shit … anyway, point is they’re going to need a new straight male lead, and Artie is a little too dorky to be a lead, so Sam is gonna need to fill the void.
