Cory Monteith checked into rehab!

Cory Monteith

Glee star and fellow Canadian Cory Monteith, who I have to admit is a really talented guy and pretty damn congenial in interviews, took it upon himself to quietly enter a rehab facility over the weekend and get help for substance abuse. People magazine reports …

Actor Cory Monteith, who stars as Finn Hudson on the FOX series Glee, has checked into rehab, People has learned exclusively. The actor “has voluntarily admitted himself to a treatment facility for substance addiction,” his rep tells People. “He graciously asks for your respect and privacy as he takes the necessary steps towards recovery.” Monteith, 30, has been open about his past struggles with substance abuse. He admitted in a 2011 interview that he had previously entered rehab when he was 19.

Well, good for him for knowing he has a good life and for taking the proper steps to stay healthy and maintain his happiness moving forward. It takes a strong person to recognize they have a problem and that a happy life shouldn’t be taken for granted, and doing whatever it takes to keep it going. Lindsay Lohan, you may want to take notes here.
