Farrah Abraham only got $10,000 for her sex tape

Back when Farrah Abraham first released her “sex tape” which actually turned out to be a porno for which she wanted plausible deniability, Farrah claimed that she made a million. Turns out, much like everything else Farrah said about her sex tape, this was a slight exaggeration. According to Fox 411, if you knock off a couple zeroes from her paycheck, you’ll get the actual amount she earned: $10,000.

One source close to the situation tells FOX411 the former Teen Mom star only got about 1/100 of that amount. That’s right: $10,000, not $1 million. “In reality she (Abraham) got $10,000 upfront and 30 percent of sales, minus the cost of production,” the source said. “The entire celebrity sex video genre is a lot of unsubstantiated marketing with very little truth behind it. It’s all publicity. It’s all hype.”

Granted, she still made a lot more off of sales, so we can still bump up her paycheck a little more, but let’s be real: She didn’t even deserve $10,000. There are a ton of people in the industry who work hard and treat people with respect, and they don’t make that kind of money because they never ruined a child on national television. What I’m basically trying to say here is that reality TV is creating a stranglehold on our media and encouraging people to be awful. Do not let your kids grow up to be reality stars. Porn stars? Sure. But NOT reality stars.
