In October 2012 Beatles fans the globe over, even more particularly John Lennon fans, will be ecstatic when Lennon Letters, a newly announced book is released by publishers Little, Brown and Company. Yoko Ono, widow of Lennon, gave permission for the first time for any selection of his personal letters and correspondence to be published, she even collaborated with editor and official Beatles biographer Hunter Davies to compile the project. The book promises to give insight and a personal look at one of this past centuries brightest luminaries of the world, the collection includes letters, postcards, to anybody from the cleaning lady to his lawyer, the publisher describes this collection as, “funny, informative, campaigning, wise, mad, poetic, anguished and sometimes heartbreaking … many of the letters are reproduced as they were, in his handwriting or typing, plus the odd cartoon or doodle.” I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy!
