kanye west’s coldest winter

hey hey! i really didn’t do anything today which was a really nice change of pace – i ended up playing fallout 3 for hours on the xbox – it’s a great game if you’re into that kind of thing! tomorrow i have a bunch of stuff to get done – so i’m glad i got in some much needed downtime! anyways a few days ago the brand new kanye west album 808’s & heartbreaks leaked onto the net (it officially comes out this coming monday november 24th and will be streaming on his myspace as well) i’ve listened to it a bunch of times already and he definitely has the talent to backup his huger than life ego – there’s no question about it (whether i’d call him the voice of a generation – that’s up for debate…) i’ve always thought mr.west was an incredibly talented musician but i was never all that keen on his music but this 4th studio release is so fucking good – i seriously can’t get over it! the overall vibe is kind of cold & stark (with doses of sadness) yet it’s all so well done and flows from track to track like a good album should – it will for sure land a spot in my top ten favorite albums of ’08! i’m particularly obsessed with the last track called coldest winter (along with his new haunting single heartless) which you can listen to for yourself below – courtesy of imeem – it’s a stunning song and borrows from tears for fears‘ kick-ass 1983 track memories fade (i used to love them back in the day!) popbytes over & out for now…xoxo
