Perhaps the worlds most famous vegetarian and ex-Beatle, Sir Paul McCartney is publicly backing a plan to implement a ban on animal tested cosmetics and other toiletries throughout Europe. Legislation outlawing the sale of cosmetics tested on laboratory animals by 2013 is already in place by the European Union, but McCartney is publicly backing a speedier crack down. Paul says, “Animals should not suffer in the name of beauty. Testing toiletries and cosmetics on animals is cruel and unnecessary … say no to cruel cosmetics”. I heartily agree, products could just as easily be tested on humans, especially since they are for humanoid use. Now if only the U.S. would take similar measures!
