So Lady Gaga is on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar this month sporting those weird prosthetic skin protrusions that for some reason remind me of a Toblerone (we’ve really got to think harder about where we put these product placements …) and of course, the girl is wasting no time in spouting out the craziest shit she can think of. First and foremost, she’s claiming that Alexander McQueen is actually spending all his time free of his mortal coil working on helping Gaga with her music. No, really, she’s saying that Alexander McQueen wrote her music. Because, you know, heaven gets boring after a while, so he might as well help Gaga rip off a Madonna song from the grave.
“I think he planned the whole thing: Right after he died, I wrote Born This Way,” she said. “I think he’s up in heaven with fashion strings in his hands, marionetting away, planning this whole thing.” She said it was purely by coincidence that the hit single was released on February 11, 2011 — the one-year anniversary of his death. “When I heard that, I knew he planned the whole damn thing,” Gaga said. “I didn’t even write the f**king song! He did!” SOURCE
Crazy? Yes, but I’m going to cut her a bit of slack here. When someone you love dies, yes, sometimes you fantasize things in order to make the whole thing a little less real. Believe me, I’m speaking from experience here: separating yourself from reality helps take the sting off. So I’m going to give her the benefit of the doubt here and say that this isn’t entirely just another instance of Gaga throwing out fashionable names the way she always does in order to lend credence to what is essentially run of the mill disco pop, and instead say that maybe, in some really weird way, this is just a coping mechanism.
