Chanteuse Lana Del Rey is gearing up for TROPICO, a 30-minute short film directed by Anthony Mandler (who also directed her masterful “Ride” music video), starring Lana of course. It’s ‘a tale of redemption’ set to her tracks “Body Electric,” “Gods & Monsters,” and “Bel Air,” all off the Paradise edition of her incredible Born To Die album. This past Friday evening she posted the above haunting black and white image on Twitter of her holding a snake looking gorgeous as per always. The film will also star Shaun Ross, who has the distinction of being the first albino model, plus there’s supposedly actors playing the parts of Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe and Jesus, all mentioned in the lyrics of “Body Electric.” No word on when we can see this but Lana stated it’s coming to ‘a city near you’ with premiere dates to be announced soon. Being a huge stan for Lana, when the films comes to Los Angeles, I plan on being the first person in line, I seriously cannot wait to witness this in all its glory!
